School Screening

Every effort is made from the JPM Rotary Club of Cuttack Eye Hospital and Research Institute’s managing committee to screen school children with refractive errors and any other correctable ocular morbidity in the city of Cuttack and its surrounding districts. This school screening programme is carried out at regular intervals throughout the year.

As part of School screening programme, in partnership with Sightsavers, an international development organization working in the field of blindness control in India JPM Rotary Eye Hospital has also undertaken Cuttack as demonstration district in the state of Odisha for its National School Eye Health Programme with scale up across the state. The programme which was launched in September 2014, with a goal to provide quality eye care services to students of various government run schools in Cuttack district, as of now 1,65,351 students of 1949 schools have screened their eyes under this programme.
